Universal language of magic – like dance, painting, music, etc, all these can be portrayed without speaking.
Magic is such a powerful tool which transcend language and culture.
Mr Bottle: Exactly 2 years ago, I was invited to Pyongyang to perform magic at the 31st April Spring Friendship Art Festival.
I was not sure how it would turn out because I wanted to perform my children magic there. Why? Mr Bottle is about inspiring children; telling everyone that “Nothing is Impossible“.
There wasn’t much information if my magic was going to be suitable, how big the theatre would be, how many shows there were and how many audience there were, until I reached there. I wasn’t sure if they would laugh at the parts which I wanted them to laugh.
We had 2 days of rehearsals and the organisers even prepared children for me to practise with. Everyone was very professional.
It was a relief when the first show was over. I realised no matter where you are from, what language you speak and who you are, my magic can bring across my emotional messages in an amazing way.
Magic is worthy as an art
That is why, magic is such a useful tool and an art which I want to elevate its artistic status. Unlike music and painting, which is highly regarded by general public as art, magic may have a little way to go.
That is why in our magic lessons, we emphasise on personal development of magic. We do not give ready made items because that is not ‘You’. We encourage children to give magic their own personality. Learn magic the right way and give magic what it is due.
