The COVID-19 virus which hit Singapore and the rest of the world have affected businesses globally, especially those in the travel and events industry. Despite most advisory including, Senior Health Correspondent Salma Khalik of the Straits Times saying that safe to attend events with large crowds, we do understand that special situations.
In fact, we have relaxed our policy during this difficult time for everyone. We know that way out of this crisis is to work together with our clients and partners. It is our responsibility as a party planner and event managers to think of solutions to problems, and there is nothing more significant than the situation in Singapore at the moment.
Having been through SARS in 2003 and H1N1 in 2009, we develop these policies and measures which most clients think it is a very fair and appropriate.
1. Updates on our confirmation policy
- DORSCON Green & yellow – policy as per normal. Change of dates subject to availability and should not be more than 14 days.
- DORSCON Orange – Change of items booked allowed. (For instance, you can change bouncy castles to magic shows and top up any differences, if any. On the other hand, if you book art & craft and if we have already bought all the materials, changing of items is not allowed.) Postponement is allowed; and we allow your ‘credits’ to be used for up to a year. This applies if you let us know at least 7 working days in advance.
- DORSON Red – Cancellation allowed; full refund of the down payment.
This offer applies to all events booked with Mr Bottle’s Kids Party since mid Jan and will extend until further notice.
Of course, terms and conditions apply. For instance, if our client chooses to postpone the event, then the new date will be subject to the availability of our team, our partners, and the venue. Our team will source for alternatives if the primary choices are no longer available. Worst case, clients can postpone the event, and book their event in the future when the situation becomes better. We even allow them to pass their deposit to their friends if they want.
2. Measures in Place for Parties / Events
We have various measures in place to ensure that highest levels of cleanliness.
- Our staff who have been to China or Korea for the past 14 days are not allowed to take on events.
- Thy are not allowed to take on events if they have flu symptoms.
- Face Masks are provided to our staff if required.
- All are required to wash their hands before the start of any event.
- No turnaround rental of our mascot – Our costume and mascots needs to be thoroughly cleaned before we handle over to another customer.
- We use Freshway to clean our equipment like bouncy castles – This is the same sanitiser used by UNICEF for the management of Ebola virus. It is so safe for children that it can be used on food!
Of course, it takes both hands to clap. We believe our clients will also take steps to ensure everyone has a meaningful event. Read about the 5 precautionary measures on how you can take for a healthy and virus free birthday party.
