Hi! My name is Mr Bottle and this is my first storybook for kids. I am a magician based in Singapore. I have been performing magic for more than 20 years and have been invited to do my show in China, the USA, Thailand, and even North Korea. My core values are to inspire and empower others using my magic shows and workshops.
This storybook is my first-ever Kickstarter Campaign. I always wanted to write a book to inspire children in different ways. Despite many publishers and friends saying that printing a physical children’s book is a dying trade, I believe that “Nothing is Impossible”. I want to tell kids that you can achieve anything if you believe in yourself. I hope you can be of this journey to inspire more people.

Once upon a time, there was a very shy child. He was so shy that he did not dare to talk to anyone in school. His father bought a bottle of magic for him.
“In it, is magic that will make you grow brave and strong.”
Every morning, he would open the bottle for some magic. Day by day, he began to make more friends. He even chased Billy, the big bully, away.
Many years later, he discovered that the bottle was empty. Believing in magic has changed his life. This child is none other than Mr Bottle the Magician, who believes that nothing is impossible.

I always wanted to write a storybook based on the Story of Mr Bottle BUT did not know where to start. It was then COVID-19 hit. Travelling and magic are my passion so created Singapore’s first magic tour to continue my magic show and to tell my story.
With more time on hand during COVID-19, I decided to write this book and incorporate the riddles that I created for my tour in this book. In the story, these riddles lead the children on a treasure-hunting adventure. I have also included small little “secrets” in the book which may be too sensitive to share on this open platform. (If the book is successful and on request, I would create a private Zoom with the buyers to share these secrets.)
I have approached a few publishers, however, I have been rejected or ignored. With the manuscript in hand, I didn’t know what to do. I put it aside. Then amazingly, my boy who didn’t even like to read, started reading comics and storybooks about a year ago. Then, for some reasons, he was inspired to write a chess book. (He picked up chess in 2019) Now, he has completed his book and looking for printers. Not to be outdone and with his inspiration, I had to do something about my book and decided to go the self-publishing route.
